Kansas Incident Management Team
Working Group
Meeting Minutes from 9-18-2008
IMT v. EMAC
-
There is no expectation that the Local IMT members will deploy on Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) missions as part of their IMT commitment.
-
All Regions are encouraged to identify those IMT members that would like to deploy under EMAC. From time to time there will be EMAC requests for IMTs and we could form a team with those interested.
-
Eventually the All-Hazards Team will be ‘first out’ for EMAC missions.
There is no dress code for EMAC deployments; however please remind your members to dress professionally (i.e. shorts and t-shirt are not acceptable attire for working in a State EOC).
Also remind your members that there are EMAC policies and procedures, they must follow those. They work for, and are the responsibility of, the requesting State.
Type 3 Update
-
Formation of the Type 3 Team is underway. If you have a Local IMT member that is interested in being on the Type 3 Team, have them contact Bill Brubaker or Matt Mercer.
Clothing Update
-
Bill Brubaker and Jim Schmidt are working on the clothing/logo/sticker issue. More to come on this as they firm up details.
Training Update
-
Bill is working on an Emergency Operations Center training/exercise for the IMTs. He will contact the Teams when he has firm dates.
-
We are still waiting to see what Position Specific Training will be offered.
Website
-
The website www.ksimt.org is up and running.
-
Every IMT member in the State should have an email address on this domain. User name = first name.last name Password = !@%#^$)(&
-
Each Region has a page on the site and is invited use it, if they wish. If you have someone that would like to be administrator of your region’s web page, contact Matt. So far SW, NW, NE and SC have administrators named, and some have developed their pages.
Non-Profit
-
Matt will look in to forming a non-profit corporation for the IMT Working Group. This will allow us to accept donations on behalf of the IMTs.
Next Meeting
-
The next meeting will be at 10am on December 12, 2008 at the offices of Saline County Emergency Management, in Salina.
