The Kansas Incident Management Team System is made up of seven Local/State Incident Management Teams (Type 4), comprised of members from Emergency Management, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Hospitals, Public Works, Volunteer Organizations, and the Private Sector.
The Teams represent the State's seven Homeland Security Regions, and are funded by the Regions with State Homeland Security Grant Program funds. All members have had training in the Incident Command System and the functions of the Command and General Staffs.
The Kansas Incident Management Team Working Group is the oversight body for the IMTs. The Working Group has representatives from each Region's IMT, the seven Regional Councils, KU Fire & Rescue Training Institute, and the Kansas Division of Emergency Management.
